Today I want to talk about palworld, a game I had on my wish list for a long time. It finally got released. I bought the game immediately on release date and despite the download taking quite a long time I was able to play the game soon enough. I had high expectations and let me say up front, these expectations were exceeded many times over. With every step I took and every pal I caught I discovered new spots, new chests and, above all, new pals. These little critters were, of course, immensely cute from the start and although I didn’t fully expect it, the designs would really surprise me later on.
The adventure itself
Of course, you start your adventure with the three regular critters, chickipi, cattiva and lamball. These are the first critters you see walking around. So what did I do, I immediately started crafting bench, saw that I needed spheres for catching, and yes the spheres were flying around. Sometimes things were a bit difficult and a baseball bat came into play, but at other times luck was with me and I was able to continue without a hitch.
This adventure I did not play by myself, but together. It was apparently easy to build in this game, so we quickly discovered how to build a base and took our first steps at the ruins near the start. We built a huge house, and although my ambitions usually exceed me, it was actually a huge house.
We discovered all the pals in the area and we got through that if we caught 10 pals of each kind we would get a bonus. So what happened? We farmed materials for our spheres, released our pals into our base and what did we see? All the work was done for us. Fantastic, this of course meant we could farm in peace while everything was being prepared for us. What we did forget was that the pals needed their beds.
The spheres
The spheres were awesome to use, despite the blue rocks being somewhat scarce. We were quickly provided with enough spheres. What happened next? I went wild. I threw the spheres with great pleasure on everything that was loose and stuck. This went great in most cases, yet there was one instance where I massively overestimated myself.
This was the mammorest, I saw that it had a high level and thought wellll…….. why not. So I aimed and saw at least a percentage, as 0.01% also counts. So my brilliant brain thought, okay it doesn’t say it’s impossible so let me stand right in front of him and throw. Yeah, I shouldn’t have done this.
As it happens, the pal didn’t find this very funny and stood on his hind legs. This is where the méme ‘hello darkness my old friend’ really felt out of place because yes, he came down and all I saw was a light and saw myself crawling on the ground. Now I could do two things. Wait to be helped knowing that the other would also have to give up her life in the worst case scenario, or? Choosing to run and I just let myself die. There where I spawned back on the bed I naturally wanted revenge. What did I do?
I went for the green sphere and went back again, but of course this time with a good distance. This of course did nothing at all and now had the chance to show the mammoth our house, as I was chased for a short time. Fortunately, this one decided to refrain from a confrontation and left us.
Progression
The game has a good progression, despite not knowing anything about the dangers of the towers yet, you will find out soon enough what you are up against. After all, storming the first tower is one of your tasks. So you’ll quickly learn the advantages and disadvantages of the pals’ attributes to get you ready for your first milestone. After your tutorial, or just whenever you want to go out, the game will take you to the most breathtaking and beautiful places. Everywhere we walked, the words waauw and beautiful came up regularly. This game has really put a lot of time into development and the environment. You can really see this.
Conclusion
What can I say? For €30, the game is actually more than worth it. The environments are really gorgeous, the pals super cute and the mechanics and crafting incredibly easy to learn. Believe me, there is nothing more fun than running around with your pals, taking on the most challenging battles and also enjoying a great survival game experience. I really enjoyed it immensely and I really can’t wait for the new updates to this game. We at Zoneofgamer.com approve!!!
